Chrome Extension · Built for LinkedIn's Catch Up page

Every birthday, promotion and “congrats” you meant to send, actually sent.

WishPilot works LinkedIn's Catch Up feed for you: birthdays, belated birthdays, new roles, work anniversaries, promotions and graduations, written in your own words, on a schedule you set.

How it works

Four steps, then it runs itself.

Open Catch Up

Go to LinkedIn's My Network then Catch Up tab, or click "Open WishPilot" in the extension. A floating panel appears right on the page.

Set your templates

Write your own line for each occasion using {name} and {fullname}, or leave LinkedIn's own default message untouched.

Press Start

WishPilot works through the feed, matches each card to an occasion, and sends your wish. It keeps going even if you close the tab, as long as Chrome stays open.

Check the report

A full category breakdown lands in the Report tab after every run, and is saved to your local history.

Features

Built for the page you already use.

Six occasions recognized

Birthday, belated birthday, new job or role, work anniversary, promotion, and education or graduation, detected straight from LinkedIn's own card text.

Your own words

Custom templates per category, or fall back to whatever LinkedIn prefills, your choice, per occasion.

Runs on a schedule

Start a run and it keeps going in the background, powered by Chrome's alarm system. No need to babysit the tab.

Draggable, persistent panel

Lives on the Catch Up page, remembers where you left it, and stays out of the way while it works.

Category reports & history

A full breakdown after every run, so you always know exactly who was wished and for what.

Pick your categories

Select all, or choose exactly which occasion types to include. Nothing sends that you haven't ticked.

Why it matters

Staying in touch shouldn't be a chore.

Without WishPilotYou scroll the Catch Up feed, click a dozen "Congrats" buttons by hand, and forget to come back tomorrow.
With WishPilotThe same feed, worked automatically, on the schedule you set. You show up every time, without opening the tab.
Without WishPilotLinkedIn's default message says the same generic line to everyone you congratulate.
With WishPilotA different template per occasion, in your own voice. Your birthday wish doesn't read like your promotion note.
Without WishPilotNo record of who you've already congratulated, or when. Easy to double up or miss someone.
With WishPilotA category-by-category report after every run, kept in your local history for reference.
Privacy first

No server. Nowhere for your data to go.

WishPilot has no backend. Your templates, settings and send history are stored with Chrome's own chrome.storage.local, on your machine, in your browser profile, and nowhere else.

What stays on your device

  • Your message templates, per occasion
  • Category and schedule settings
  • Send history and run reports
  • Panel position and preferences

What WishPilot never does

  • No analytics or tracking pixels
  • No account, sign-up, or login
  • No remote server your data is sent to
  • No selling or sharing of any data

FAQ

Good to know before you start.

What's the difference between "My template" and "LinkedIn default"?

"My template" lets you write a custom message using {name} and {fullname}. "LinkedIn default" sends exactly what LinkedIn prefills when you click its own Congrats or Wish button, unchanged.

What counts as a "belated birthday"?

LinkedIn sometimes shows a card for a birthday that already passed. WishPilot detects the word "belated" in the card text and uses your Belated Birthday template instead of the regular one.

Nothing happens when I press Start, what's wrong?

Make sure you're on the Catch Up page at linkedin.com/mynetwork/catch-up/all/, and that at least one category is ticked in the Templates tab. Press F12 and check the Console for [LI-Auto] log lines if it still doesn't start.

Are my templates and settings saved between sessions?

Yes, everything is written to Chrome's local storage as soon as you change it, and reloads automatically the next time you open the panel.

Does it keep running if I close the LinkedIn tab?

Yes. Once a run starts, it continues in the background via Chrome's alarm system as long as Chrome itself stays open. You don't need to keep the tab in front of you.

Is automating LinkedIn against its Terms of Service?

WishPilot automates the same clicks you'd make yourself on LinkedIn's own Catch Up page. It doesn't scrape, message off-page, or touch anything else on the site. That said, LinkedIn's own terms place limits on automated activity, so use your judgment and moderate your schedule. WishPilot is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn Corporation.

What does it cost?

Nothing. WishPilot is free, with no account, subscription, or in-app purchases.

Which browsers are supported?

Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and any other Chromium-based browser that supports Manifest V3 extensions.

How do I remove my data?

Uninstall the extension from chrome://extensions. Chrome clears its locally stored data immediately, since there's no server copy to delete.

Can I set a different template for the same category on different days?

Not yet, each category holds one template at a time. You can edit it whenever you like between runs, and the new wording applies to every send from that point on.

What happens if LinkedIn changes the design of the Catch Up page?

WishPilot reads the page's text and structure to detect occasions, so a significant redesign on LinkedIn's side can affect detection until the extension is updated. Fixes for that are usually rolled out quickly.

Does WishPilot work on the LinkedIn mobile app or mobile site?

No. Chrome extensions only run in the desktop version of Chrome, so WishPilot works on the desktop Catch Up page at linkedin.com, not inside the LinkedIn mobile app or Chrome for Android or iOS.

Is there a paid or pro version?

No. WishPilot is a single free extension, every feature described on this site is included, with no upsell or locked functionality.

Let WishPilot take the next run.

Free, local-only, and ready in under a minute.
